Guirsch, the most beautiful village in Wallonia

Since 2023, Guirsch has been labelled “Most Beautiful Village in Wallonia”. And you don’t just end up in Guirsch: you have to leave the main road and take a small uphill road, all shaded under a dense forest. Past the mound, the light bursts and a breathtaking landscape greets you: vast expanses of meadows and fields as far as the eye can see, the high plateau offers you a panoramic view of the beginning of the Ardennes and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Grandiose! Guirsch is there, under our feet, with its head in the sky.

Just at the entrance to the village, the Saint-Willibrord chapel welcomes you and invites you to continue on your way to the centre. Guirsch is one of the oldest villages in Arlon. Over the centuries, it has managed to preserve all its heritage wealth. In 2010, its centre was classified as an architectural ensemble of Wallonia.

The very beautiful classified (but private) castle, built in the second half of the 18th century, dominates a richly wooded park. Numerous old and traditional farms take root around it and give this village a guaranteed charm. (Source: Most Beautiful Village of Wallonia)
