Archaeological vestiges - Roman Basilica and Baths

Arlon, Gallo-Roman city!

The archaeological park reveals the remains of a Gallo-Roman complex.

Some famous pieces exhibited in the Arlon Archaeological Museum were discovered on this site, including the stele of the schoolmaster or a horse ensemble from a column to the Horse-God. After the disappearance of the Gallo-Roman civilization, the place was reused by a Merovingian family. Around the 7th century, the private building became a parish church of the city, dedicated to Saints Marc and Martin. It remained until 1558, while the cemetery was decommissioned in 1853.
